L-PLATE DAN FAILS FIRST TEST

The L-Plate Minister for Social Services, Dan Tehan today failed to say how many widows and vulnerable Australians will be worse off under the conservatives plan to axe the Bereavement Allowance.
In an angry and bizarre answer during Question Time, baby driver Dan admitted that he is an L-Plate Minister, saying:
"I don't want you in the car with me while I’m learning to drive."

L-Plate Dan didn’t even mention the Bereavement Allowance once in his answer.
For the record in 2016 there were 838 recipients of the Bereavement Allowance.
The Bereavement Allowance is a short term payment for people whose partner has died. It is paid for a maximum of 14 weeks.
Axing the Bereavement Allowance is a cruel cut to vulnerable Australians receiving short term income support following the loss of a loved one.
There is no justification for this harsh cut to vulnerable Australians.
If L-Plate Dan wants to learn he should start by dropping his unfair plan to axe the bereavement allowance.
