New figures revealed at Senate Estimates show that around 45,000 more pensioners have been hit by Turnbull’s changes to the pension assets test than originally estimated.

The Department of Social Services has revealed that 277,700 pensioners suffered a cut to their pension, greater than the estimated figure of 236,000 when the change came into effect in January 2017.

A further 92,300 part pensioners lost their pension entirely up from the projected number of 88,500.

In total, around 370,000 part-pensioners across Australia have suffered a cut to their pension because of Mr Turnbull’s pension cuts.

Part-pensioners all across the country have their household budgets cut by the conservatives.

Malcolm Turnbull and Tony Abbott misled pensioners.

They promised no changes to pensions and in every single Budget the conservatives have delivered they’ve tried to cut the Age Pension.

The legislation to change the pension assets test and cut part-pensions passed the Parliament in June 2015 following a backroom deal between the Liberals and the Greens.

In Batman alone, around 1,800 pensioners were made worse off.

The Greens political party also need to take responsibility for this cut.

Labor won’t forget that Richard Di Natale did a backroom deal with Scott Morrison to cut the pension to 370,000 Australians.

Only Labor stands up for Australian pensioners.
