Investing in the next generation of students
THE HON DAN TEHAN MP
Australian students will have the opportunity to become the next generation of leaders thanks to the Morrison Government’s new $119 million Endeavour Leadership Program.
Minister for Education Dan Tehan said the program would provide students with opportunities to study or conduct research at leading institutions in Australia and internationally.
It is expected around 2,500 people will take part this year, with grants starting at $2,500.
“The standard of successful applications to the Endeavour Leadership Program is expected to be very high,” Mr Tehan said.
“Our economy depends on ensuring our students, academics and researchers become leaders in their field, and this program will help them achieve that.
“The program will also showcase Australia’s $30 billion international education and training sector to the world by inviting international students and academics to study at our institutions.
“International education generates more than 130,000 jobs throughout Australia and the program will play a key role in keeping our economy strong and our institutions internationally competitive.”
The program is open to undergraduate, postgraduate and vocational education and training students, as well as higher education providers and registered training organisations.
It brings together the Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships and the Endeavour Mobility Grants.
