LIBERAL DECEPTION IN BOOTHBY AND MAYO ON GLOBELINK

The Liberals have been caught out distributing flyers across Boothby and Mayo falsely claiming they “will deliver” the Globelink project, despite the Liberals failing to allocate a single dollar to the project in last month’s Federal Budget. 

 

It’s not just the lack of funding, Senate Estimates has revealed that Infrastructure Australia and the Department of Infrastructure, Regional Development and Cities aren’t even aware of the project. 

 

Federal Cities Minister Alan Tudge recently said “We don’t have any serious money invested into that.” He made clear it wasn’t a priority for the Liberals, saying "It’s all about also having the right priorities at the right time.”  

 

The Liberal Party’s flyer features Boothby MP Nicolle Flint and State Liberal MP, Sam Duluk, claiming, “Our Globelink plan will deliver benefits across our local community. Only your local team will deliver Globelink.” 

 

Liberal candidate for Mayo, Georgina Downer, joined in on the deception, sending out flyers claiming that infrastructure upgrades in Mayo will include, “Moving freight trains out of the Adelaide Hills, reducing traffic congestion, noise and bushfire risk.” 

 

The Liberal Party are trying to hoodwink voters into believing they are going to move freight trains and heavy vehicles from the Adelaide Hills, but the fact is they haven’t committed a single cent towards the project. 

 

The Liberals have form on misleading infrastructure advertising, in 2017 flyers were distributed by the Liberals in Boothby about the Oaklands Crossing project, which the Electoral Commission found were inaccurate and misleading, in breach of the Act, and ordered a retraction.
