PFIZER VACCINE APPROVED BY TGA
CHRIS BOWEN MP
It’s great news that the Pfizer vaccine is now TGA approved, a huge effort by our regulators.

Now the clock is ticking on vaccine delivery after a slew of spin by Morrison in recent months.

After getting our first deal six months after other countries, Morrison said we were front of the queue.

No ifs. No buts. No caveats.

When announcing our Pfizer deal in November, after the company had already contracted out 1 billion doses to other countries – he still tried to pull the wool over our eyes saying we were out the front.

He said we’d have 4 million vaccinated by the end of March, now it appears he’s walking back on that spin too.

If the Morrison Government’s much spun Pfizer deal covered more than 1 in 5 Australians, or if they had a wider vaccine portfolio, they’d be able to deliver on schedule.

If Morrison can’t deliver vaccines on the promised timetable, the Australian people will be able to conclude they were spun a dishonest line.

Every day in this pandemic matters for our health and our economy.

The US, the EU, Canada and the UK all administered their first doses within a week of approval, so the clock is now ticking on the Morrison Government to deliver.
