GOVERNMENT FINALLY COMES TO THEIR SENSES ON HOMEBUILDER

For months
Labor has called on the Federal Government to extend the timeframe to commence construction under the HomeBuilder Scheme. 


Many applicants feared they’d miss out in the $25,000 grant because of significant delays caused by things like a shortage of building supplies, such as timber.


Finally the Morrison Government has listened, extending the timeframe. This is a good thing.


This change should have been made a long time ago.


The Prime Minister and Minister for Housing have been forced make a number of changes to the HomeBuilder Scheme that Labor has called for, including:


Labor has also called on the Government to extend the scheme to bushfire victims who lost their homes in the fires and missed the application deadline.


They have so far failed to listen. But Labor will keep fighting to get the Prime Minister to make this change as well.


Housing
