TURNBULL’S 600 DAYS OF TURNING A BLIND EYE TO BANK CUSTOMER RIPOFFS
MATT KEOGH MP
What a surprise that the banking royal commission Mr Turnbull fought tooth and nail against for over 600 days, has uncovered behaviour the Liberals wanted to turn a blind eye to.
The Liberals didn’t want the banking royal commission and now we know why. They tried to tear down Labor’s laws to protect customers from conflicts of interest – exactly the behaviour now being uncovered.

Mr Turnbull didn’t want a bank royal commission because it would uncover behaviour the Liberals wanted to make legal by tearing down Labor’s Future of Financial Advice reforms to protect customers from conflicts of interest.

If the Liberals had gotten their way, this sort of behaviour would have been within the law.
In Parliament, Mr Turnbull voted over 20 times against a royal commission, protecting his mates from the big end of town against an avalanche of evidence and community concern.
This shows just how out of touch Mr Turnbull is.
It’s clear Mr Turnbull and the Liberals are happy for big banks and the top end of town to get away with this. If it wasn’t for Labor’s calls for a royal commission into the banks, Malcolm Turnbull’s bank protection racket would have continued.
