WINNERS OF 2018 PRIME MINISTER’S PRIZES FOR SCIENCE

Labor congratulates the recipients of the 2018 Prime Minister’s Prizes for Science, who were recognised at an awards ceremony at Parliament House last night.
The recipient of the Prime Minister’s Prize for Science, Emeritus Professor Kurt Lambeck AO, and each of the other recipients are examples of the outstanding talent within Australia’s laboratories, businesses, universities and classrooms.
These awards reflect the nation’s pride in the important contribution that science and research make in driving innovation across our economy and creating the jobs of the future.
That’s why a Shorten Labor Government will work with business, industry, universities and research institutes to boost Australia’s investment in research and development to 3 per cent of GDP by 2030.
A Shorten Labor Government will build the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) workforce of the future, support advanced manufacturing businesses and the commercialisation of new ideas in Australia.
