LABOR OPPOSES DEATH PENALTY IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES

Labor as a matter of principle opposes the death penalty in all circumstances for all people. This is a long-held bipartisan position.
Like the government, we are deeply concerned regarding the death sentence delivered by the Intermediate People’s Court of Dalian in the Chinese province of Liaoning to Canadian citizen Robert Lloyd Schellenberg.
Labor stands by Canada in its efforts to ensure its citizens are treated in a fair, unbiased and transparent manner.
