NDIA Invites Submissions on Western Australia Market Review
The Hon Paul Fletcher MP
Minister for Families and Social Services, Paul Fletcher, today announced the National Disability Insurance Agency’s (NDIA) Western Australia (WA) Market Review is open for feedback.

The WA Market Review has been established by the Pricing Reference Group of the NDIA to examine whether the current price controls and other market settings that apply to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) are appropriate for WA.

Mr Fletcher has released the WA Market Review’s issues paper and is encouraging NDIS participants, their families and carers, providers, industry, community and other sector representatives to provide their feedback and have their say on how the market is shaped.

“We want to ensure the outcomes of the WA Market Review best meet the needs of Western Australia, including responding to participants and enabling the providers operating within it,” Mr Fletcher said.

“It’s important that we hear whether current price controls in WA adequately account for local circumstances, including the process of transitioning to the national scheme.

“In particular, the review is interested in whether the existing NDIS support catalogue, and the price controls and associated rules set out in the NDIS Price Guide, can accommodate existing Western Australia service delivery models.

“All interested stakeholders are encouraged to use this opportunity to guide local market development by responding to the issues paper.

“The NDIA wishes to receive information and comment on all issues which are relevant to the WA Market Review’s terms of reference. The stronger the response from you, the more effective the recommendations will be.”

The WA Market Review began in 2018 and will deliver recommendations to the NDIA’s Pricing Reference Group in April 2019, for implementation from 1 July 2019.

Submissions are now open and close at midnight AWST on Sunday 31 March 2019. For more information, and to download the issues paper, visit the WA Market Review page on the NDIS website.
