Investing in tomorrow’s leaders
THE HON DAN TEHAN MP
Australian students and researchers will be supported to further their education and gain valuable international experience under a Morrison Government leadership program.
The Morrison Government will support 2,095 Australians with study and research grants, starting from $2,500, as part of the $119 million Endeavour Leadership Program.
Minister for Education Dan Tehan congratulated the 2019 Endeavour Leadership Program recipients.
“The students who receive a grant will get the opportunity to strengthen their subject matter knowledge which they can use for the betterment of our community,” Mr Tehan said.
“Our Government is supporting the 2019 recipients to work in a range of fields, from pharmacy, biomedical engineering, education, biochemistry, medicine and engineering, across 61 countries.
“The program was established to develop the knowledge and expertise of Australia’s next generation of leaders. It will also strengthen relationships between Australia and other countries and promote Australia as a world-leading study destination.
“As part of the program, 387 international leaders will be supported to further their education and research at Australian institutions.
“Because the Morrison Government is keeping our economy strong, we can fund the Endeavour Leadership Program and support the next generation of Australian leaders to succeed.”
The Morrison Government is grateful of the support from the Cheung Kong (CK) Group for the program.
The CK Group will co-fund nine individual scholarships to undertake a research study program and 183 postgraduate students to undertake a semester exchange.
Australian students in this program stream will travel to Indonesia and Japan while Australia will host students from China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.
