LABOR BLOCKS LIBERALS’ DODGY POLITICAL AD SPLURGE
SENATOR DON FARRELL
The Senate last night stopped Scott Morrison from spending more than $22 million of taxpayers’ money on political advertisements on television and radio.

Crossbench members supported Labor’s disallowance motion to prevent the government’s sneaky removal of the long-standing ban on public funding being used to pay for TV and radio political content.

Publicly funded office budgets are for Members and Senators to communicate with their constituents – not for spamming voters with hollow election slogans from the ad man, Scott Morrison.

The Liberals and Nationals refuse to properly fund schools, hospitals and pre-schools but were happy to spend taxpayers money on swamping voters with election ads.

Disallowing Scott Morrison’s sneaky changes to political advertising regulations means he can’t wasting $22 million more of taxpayers’ money on trying to save his own job.
