THIS GOVERNMENT IS ALL TALK AND NO ACTION ON REDUCING CHILD CARE FEES

The Government has promised a lot and delivered very little when it comes to reducing the cost of child care.
One of their empty promises was that their new Child Care Finder website would be a ‘game changer’ for families, allowing them to compare fees at different centres.
However the Government has failed to deliver up-to-date information on child care fees, with reports that less than half of surveyed child care centres are meeting their requirements to publish accurate fee information on the website.
At a time when we are seeing many centres introduce huge fee increases, it is more important than ever that families have transparency and the ability to hold centres to account.
Australian families are struggling under the 28 per cent rise in child care fees since the Liberal Government was elected.
But this Government is all talk and no action when it comes to reducing fees or improving transparency and accountability.
The Government said its new system would put pressure on fees to come down – it hasn’t.
They promised to take firm action and name and shame centres who hiked up their fees – they haven’t.
