GOVT MUST CANCEL SICK PLAN TO UNLEASH ROBODEBT

Minister for Robodebt Stuart Robert must immediately rule out applying a turbo-charged robodebt to vulnerable groups including the disabled, over-65s, people in the bush and the homeless.
Leaked cabinet documents prepared for Mr Robert by his department reveal a sick plan by this Government to harvest $600m by applying the harsh and inaccurate Robodebt scheme to “sensitive customers” including “older Australians, people living in remote areas and those considered vulnerable.”
There was good reason these groups were originally quarantined but this Government is showing there is nothing it won’t do for a dollar.
The shocking revelation which will bring grave fears to members of all those groups has been met with total silence from Mr Robert and only with a mealy-mouthed response from his office.
His office has failed to deny that the “strategy” contained in the document to target over-65s and other vulnerable people will actually go ahead.
This terrible scheme which has already caused a trail of heartache through this nation needs to be scrapped - not unleashed 350,000 more times on some of the most vulnerable and struggling Australians.
Mr Robert must now categorically with no weasel words tell the Australian people all these groups will continue to be protected from the cruel menace of robodebt.
