Angus Taylor says one thing in Central and North Queensland and another in the rest of the country.
Today, the Townsville Bulletin reported Angus Taylor said the Government remained committed to an expensive new coal-fired power station at Collinsville.
But the Government’s touted “technology roadmap” includes no role for new coal-fired power stations.
Angus Taylor can’t be committed to a new coal-fired power station without admitting he is walking away from his “technology road map”.
The Government pretended to back the Collinsville plant to win seats in Central Queensland.
Scott Morrison and Angus Taylor will do anything to try to buy off the hardliners in his party room.
Rather than supporting renewable investment which according to the RBA collapsed by 50 per cent in 2019, this Government is still willing to spend billions of taxpayers’ dollars on an indemnity for a new coal-fired power station, which the Australian Industry Group says could cost taxpayers $17 billion.
