STILL NO FEDERAL SUPPORT FOR SMALL BUSINESS
MATT KEOGH MP
The Morrison Government is sitting on its hands, refusing to give urgent support to small businesses hit by the latest lockdowns across the nation.

With half of the nation in lockdown, small businesses continue to be left high and dry by the Morrison Government.

Instead of taking any responsibility, the Morrison Government are leaving the heavy lifting to State Governments across the country, who have introduced or are putting together schemes to support small business.

This lockdown affecting half the country is a direct consequence of the Morrison Government’s failures on quarantine and the vaccine rollout.

Currently, there is limited support for individuals who, if they are eligible, could receive up to $500 a week but only if they’re in a nationally-recognised hotspot for more than seven days and can’t work.

That means right now, only individuals in parts of New South Wales who meet this criteria are eligible for this payment.

This is a drop in the ocean compared to the billions of dollars in damage the Morrison Government’s failures on vaccines and quarantine continue to inflict on state and territory economies.

The Morrison Government continues to spend millions of taxpayers’ dollars on ads promoting our ‘economic comeback’, but refuses to support businesses who really need it.

Scott Morrison had two jobs this year, a speedy effective rollout of the vaccine and quarantine. He’s monumentally failed both.

Small businesses need support now.
